If you want to send a report to Microsoft Word for Windows, simply click on the check box beside the phrase, “Word for Windows Output,” and click OK.
If this is the first report you have sent to Word, MasterPlan will launch Word and send the report to it. You will see it formatted with a double box around the page, with shading, and with commas in the numbers.
Now you can modify anything you wish, or simply print the report.
We recommend, however, that you check the page breaks. With Word it is very easy to insert page breaks or change pagination.
For some reports, you may want to copy or change headings from one page to another and customize it to put your own touch on the report. You can even cut and paste graphs into the reports.
Note: Word cannot automatically format your reports until you have installed the MP.DOT and MPSTYLES.DOT macro templates into the folders accessed by your copy of Word. If you don’t see a report, or you get an error message, check to make sure that the person who installed MasterPlan selected the option to load the macros for the version of Word that is currently installed on your computer. If you need further help, call the MasterPlan support desk.
Note: How long the macro takes to create the report depends on the speed of your computer, on how much RAM it has available, and on how much other software you have currently launched. You can tell the macro is working, because you will see the report being changed on the Word window, and you will see buttons change and the header and footer bar appear and disappear. The macro brings you to the top of Page 1 when it has finished. If Word has been minimized, however, you won’t be able to see the report until you maximize Word.
